Gun club membership...
Just curious... who out there is a member of the Dallas Pistol Club? I already know at least one other person on this board who is a member. My wife and I just joined a few weeks ago, and since we're not natives of the area, I'm always looking to meet new people and make new friends. If any of you are members, I thought it might be fun to hook up some time and deal death and destruction to steel plates.

I have not played steel plates in about 5 years but it is fun... Especially at DPC, there are some great guys and gals out there each month.

Tell Jerry from Howe, TX hi for me next time you are at DPC (he did the trigger work on the 686 in the picture) .
BTW... the ribbon is from either class D or C... I am not that great of a shot.

What recommendations do you have for gun clubs in Fort Worth? I'm tired of the local public ranges and looking to get into something more safe.

Don't know what part of Tarrant county you are in, but here are two choices:
Grand Prairie Gun Club: http://www.gpgc.net/
HaltomCity Rifle and Pistol Club: http://www.haltomcityrpc.org/

Re: Gun club membership...
That is correct. The bylaws currently set the membership cap at 500 members. Each year, a certain percentage do not renew their memberships, and new applications are processed until that cap is reached again. I might be wrong, but I believe that the cap might be related to their insurance costs, etc. In any case, we got in just under the wire, as my wife and I were part of the last group this year to get in.AndyC wrote:I was just about to join and went onto their website and saw this:
"The Dallas Pistol Club is currently unable to accept new membership requests due to the maximum number of members allowed by the bylaws being reached."
Argh...

So, Annoyed Man, you are saying that you ruined it for the rest of us?

Might be prudent to get on the waiting list for next year.
