When was it his job to step in on matters like this?
He's a politician. He (or his staff, not sure how much has he has in anything he does) feels it will help smooth over his "calling the cops stupid" comment. Plus, it's a chance for more publicity, and since the media fawns over him, good publicity this time over something he's gotten some negative attention for.

This is no different from any other political grandstanding ever done in history. It's not his place, he's got other things to do, but it makes him look good, doesn't require much effort, and gets some press.

On the other hand, maybe we should be glad he's wasting time with stuff like this instead of proposing more spending, for once. "rlol"

Sounds like another "czar" should be appointed. The "Can't we all just get along?" czar. Don't laugh...it's coming. :grumble

I have been reading here since December 2010 when I applied to get my CHL. This post made me register and respond. Now I admit that I did not read all of the posts, but I can guarantee you that if you got one of your "Double Action CHL" logos made with the vinal magnetic signs that stick to the side of your car door you could convince ALL of the idiots who don't believe in your right to free speech to think twice before they get close to your wife again. I bet you will pick up a few new customers as well.

Because they are LIARS.
I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

Hey, I find that kind of offensive. I am liberal on many social issues which I know some of you may not agree with me on. Obviously though, I am a proponent of 2A rights. While I do agree that what happened in the OP's story is horrible and yes some liberals are hypocrites and liars but not all of us are, same goes for conservatives. There are good an bad apples in both groups please do not generalize such negativity towards a particular group of people. Lets keep it civil here. :patriot:

:iagree: While there is obvious irony in how liberals tout themselves as tolerant and yet always seem to be the ones shouting down or stifling opposing expressions, it's not really good to point that out because liberals are also easily offended. :cheers2:

Regarding the political bumper stickers, I don't see many political stickers on cars any more (this thread is a couple years old), especially Obama stickers (I've heard the cash-for-clunkers program had a lot to do with that). "rlol"

I should have specified. The ones who get up on podiums and give speeches about tolerance and/or hold political office and spout that line are the liars. The general population liberals contains both honest and dishonest members.

My apologies for inadvertently including you with that other bunch.

No, thanks for asking Elmo - but then again, I don't follow the logic in your statement.

Oops.. I meant nothing personal and my post was intended as just tongue in cheek. I don't take Elmo's comment personally and actually found a little humor in it. No worries. :tiphat:

Seems like that might just give you twice as many people to worry about.
