OK. So, the wait is OFFICIALLY OVER!!

It took a lot of stalking the DPS website. A lot of pulling up my iPad in the middle of the night (Yup. It got THAT bad!). But, finally, I am an OFFICIAL CHL Holder!

Here are my numbers:

6/22 - Took CHL Class
6/22 - Completed online application
6/28 - Completed Fingerprints
6/28 - Mailed my forms to DPS
6/28 - 7/14 - Waited for ANY confirmation from the DPS website. (Complete Fail)
7/15 - DPS Website Updated status to "Manufacturing Pending"
7/15 - DPS Website Updated Status to "Mailed"
*7/20 - Received my CHL License in the mail!!!!!!!!! :thewave


* I was leaving out of my home to get a generic holster because The Crossbreed SuperTuck is not here yet (Primarily because I have yet to order it and it takes EIGHT WEEKS to get it.) It was about to REALLY POUR DOWN!!! But, I saw the mail lady starting to put mail in the boxes. So, because I was itching for my license to come, I decided to risk getting struck by lightning (Yeah, I know the chances are slim.) and drenched to finally rip the DPS envelope open. It was well worth it.


So, today, I have my Wally Walk planned AFTER I go out with one of my buddies on the town. Boy, am I gonna be testing it. Keeping my mouth shut. He's picking the spot. Self-conciousness. The whole enchilada! The Wally Walk will be NOTHING compared to what I am about to embark in about 20 minutes.

Thanks for everyone's support. Your stories. Everything. It helped me make it through.

Looks like it wont be to much longer and i will be reciving mine in the mail. Today status updated to mailed!

Oh I am a happy camper. We're leaving on a road trip from Dallas to New Mexico on August 6th so I assume it will be here by then (we own some acreage in Taos County, love to do some camping there by the mountains). NM is an open carry state, but it's always nice to have the reciprocal CHL so I can carry concealed in town instead of open.

I'll be carrying my Glock 22 because, well, no funds to buy a compact carry gun (yet). Nonetheless, I don't mind carrying something with immediate stopping power.

Howdy from Houston! I've been following you guys along your journey and thought it was time to chime in myself because the anticipation is killing me.

-Turned 21 on June 19th
-Took the class on the 21st
-Paperwork sent on the 24th
-First update was July 12th and my background check has been being reviewed since (2 weeks) :banghead:

I don't get why considering I've never had anything on my record, not even a traffic ticket!

So it's safe to say I'm going crazy!

Ah, at last the the background check is competed and the plastic has been mailed! Finally some progress, yet the wait continues! :yawn
