I'm not sure what the time limit is for small claims. Don't wait too long if you decide to pursue that avenue.

Many attorneys will be happy to write up a letter on their official law firm letterhead for a reasonable fee and send it certified mail to this dealer.

The lawyer can explain in the letter how much all this is going to cost the dealer at $400 per hour and hopefully the dealer will think twice about letting this ride since he'll get a picture of him being out alot of money. Small claims court is good for claims up to $5,000 (I think...) which is still alot of money for this dealer to have to fork over as opposed to doing the right thing.

It would be much cheaper to give you a refund, or another gun...that's what you would hope to accomplish by having the lawyer send a letter so the guy starts thinking about this situation from a financial point of view.
