Granny Glock, who doesn't post much, recommended this site when she found out I live in Texas. We still both visit the Women & Guns forum occasionally.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

My CHL instructor. Larry Joslin.
I like this site, being that most everyone is polite to each other.

When packing.org died, I was in withdrawal. There are many things about this site that are better. Obviously the site is focused more on Texas and since I live here that's great. However, I still really do miss having a multi-state forum like packing.org...even with its acknowledged flaws.

I think I found it thru PDO too. I liked it because it was easy to help out with laws of other states since the needed links were usually posted to who we needed to write or call. I liked the extra info about what other states were doing and we used some of it to push for new laws to help CHL out here. I don't think Kansas would have passed CCW the year they did if it wasn't for PDO in fact. That may just by my opinion though.

It is better here because there is more control over language and people aren't so hostile. I am glad we have it and it helped my "withdrawal" as well. I would like to increase the "Other States" portion of this site to include people from other states more so we could have that direct link. But, it is good we have what we have. The NRA-ILA alert e-mails are good too but they don't give a good picture of what the people of other states are thinking about any given bill or law.
