Congratulations on a great gun. I have been into revolvers lately. No casings flying back at you. Plus, they look good too. I especially like Smith & Wessons and black. The only thing I would change about your new toy is the internal lock (getting rid of it).

Congrats on the new toy. There's just something about a revolver, isn't there. Me and the missus carry autos, but we always wanted a wheel gun, so when the need for a plinker came about in our household, we scratched that itch with a Taurus 94 snubby-Favorite play gun so far!

I answered in another thread but I will also add here.The gun is a absolute pleasure to shoot. No hand pain at all. The 357 is much more fun to shoot then the 38 bullets. I enjoy a little thump in the hand. The 38 feels like a 22 mag round. Once I got used to da trigger it shot g very accurate. Highly recommend this gun. One more thing it's by far the most comfortable gun to carry. I carry 3 and 4 inch semi auto XDs and a 10mm smith. The revolver beats them all for comfort.

Load that thing with 158 grain hollow points and you have a real stopping machine there. I fired one through a three inch barrel 18.5 ounce Mountain Lite into four layers of denim stretched over twelve inches of bound wet newsprint. That's roughly the equivalent of 18 inches of penetration in ballisitc gel and then some. Bullet exited the rear, leaving a gaping hole and kept on going and was not recovered. Very impressive visually. The added weight of your gun should make the 158 grainers actually user friendly. The 158 grain 357 round was the favorite of the Texas DPS when it issued revolvers. Don't slap 'em with those puny little125 grains rounds when you can knock the holy tar out of 'em.

Ok how did you know????? I was shooting 158 grains Sat. Gun is very light 27oz. Ive read several articles were everyone recommends 125 grain but I have allways like the biggest bullet I can use as long as velocity stays good. The 158 grain def still has good speed. I figured it out and I should still be moving around 1100 fps coming out of my 2 1/2 inch barrel. Short barrels kill velocity but sure make it nice to carry. I love the crack sound you get shooting a magnum.

The 158 grain round from a three inch barrel is very close ballistically a .40 caliber 155 grain round from a three-inch semi auto. Perhaps close the bullet caliber and weight John Browning would have preferred if the Army had not insisted on validating only the 45 ACP.

From the same 3-inch gun into the same denim covered target, the softer shooting 125 grain 38 Special Golden Saber penetrated the wetpack a respectable 9.5 inches (14.25 in gel). That was slightly less than the 135 grain Gold Dot 38 Special which did 10" in wetpack/15" in gel. The Golden Saber bullet expanded and held it's shape better, a tendency I have noticed before, although it is not entirely consistent.
