Longtooth,
I understand that some are Anti current administration policies. However, there are tin-foil hat class of people who think US will collapse soon AND/OR advocate Armed Revolution against US government. Way over the top and border on unstable behavior.

Re: Concealed Carry Magazine?
I've been a "member" of the USCCA, which publishes the Conceal Carry Magazine, for a year now. My observations are:
1. Their email marketing IS over the top very similar to Front Site's marketing; like they're trying to wear down the consumer into purchasing the product. Annoying! HOWEVER,
2. The magazine is GREAT! I get more usable information out of one issue of that Magazine than I have in 25 years of NRA membership.
3. There's good info on their web forum if you can wade through the ever increasing political posts (most of which I agree with) and the "end of the world as we know it" posts, but I go there for conceal carry issues, not political and doom & gloom rhetoric.
4. There are many people (including at least two of the moderators) on that site that like to bully people with condescending responses. Sort of a "look how smart I am and how stupid you are" type posts.
5. Someone earlier on this forum said something like "they seem to be hardcore over there" ... Well put.
It was nice for a year and because of them, I've found other forums to learn from such as this one. Probably won't renew.

Hmmmm......and the downside is......??Beiruty wrote:Oh one more thing, on the forum of USCCA, so many right-wing and religious nuts are there. The type of the world will end soon and the US will collapse into chaos, marial law will be imposed, etc. Please do not forget that some preach the current admin wants to destroy US as we know it.
On the other hand, a lot of people will help the new to concealed carry to show them the ropes.
Hey, I resemble that statement!

Also just saw yesterday that John McCain (certainly no right winger) said that "Obama is leading an extreme left wing crusade to bankrupt America

Now THOSE things would tend to make me not join them. Just wish I could subscribe to the mag without it. The Kathy Jackson editor that they interviewed on GunTalk sounded pretty kewl.Aggiedad wrote:I've been a "member" of the USCCA, which publishes the Conceal Carry Magazine, for a year now. I'm not sure John McCain is an objective source of information about a man from the opposing party that just beat him in the presidential race. Also just saw yesterday that John McCain (certainly no right winger) said that "Obama is leading an extreme left wing crusade to bankrupt America

Re: Concealed Carry Magazine?
i joined for one year and then did not renew. Too much advertising of various schemes and programs by the founder. You can get information as valuable other places but to each his own!

I love the magazine and enjoy the forums. There is certainly a diverse group over there, but I've never been one to be offended just because someone has a different viewpoint than I do.
One of the really nice things about joining is that you can read all the back issues of the magazine online.
The marketing is over the top and annoying. That's the biggest downside to me. For the most part I just ignore it.

Re: Concealed Carry Magazine?
Was interested in the mag and left request for info. The constant sales pitch has been flooding my anti-spam email box for the last 4 months.

Re: Concealed Carry Magazine?
I just renewed for the second year. I enjoy the forum and magazine. Like every other forum, you read what you want and ignore the rest. I have found some good information on equipment and weapons from that forum. I, like others, do not appreciate daily email to entice me to buy something so typically just delete it.
I thought about dropping out after one year but I really enjoy the forum and magazine enough that I decided to keep it another year. May not be for everyone, but it is for me.

Re: Concealed Carry Magazine?
I thought you were talking about carrying a concealed magazine. I was going to pop in and say that we have to conceal only our handguns - we can carry ammo in bandoleers across both shoulders if we want.
Never mind...

It can't possibly be worse than the NRA's "chicken little" mailings.Sangiovese wrote:The marketing is over the top and annoying.

Those don't stop me from being a member, no matter how badly they irritate me. The volume did drop dramatically when I asked to be excluded, but some still get through.
Re: Concealed Carry Magazine?
and I'm not sure John McCain isn't telling the truth, regardless of what party he's with..... economic bailouts? etc etc etc..... socialized medicine being crammed down our throats? ...... MORE government programs?..... national debt tripled with BHO?JCole wrote:I'm not sure John McCain is an objective source of information about a man from the opposing party that just beat him in the presidential race. Also just saw yesterday that John McCain (certainly no right winger) said that "Obama is leading an extreme left wing crusade to bankrupt America
