I just ordered a safepacker tonight.

I just started a new job last week and I'm actually driving over 50 miles roundtrip per day. I take different routes to and from work everyday trying to figure out the best ones. Alot of times I'm in unfamiliar parts of town (as I'm an inner looper). This week I've been working the late shift which puts me on the road at 11:30pm. I like having my G19 within reach which is usually in a holster underneath my backpack in my front seat. I do worry about accidents and figured the safepacker might do the trick. I also use one of the centerofmass safes for storage when I can't pack. They've been mentioned numerous times in this forum...so here's another one!

I've been that way all of my life. (This sorely irritates my step-father, who I have had to tell on several occasions that being male does not prevent crime.)
Fortunately, my little car didn't come with such "luxury".
I'm thinking there is a way you can change the way the doors lock. I'd look in the manual or give the dealership a call. There are alot of little tricks you probably don't know about, i.e. to reset the oil light you turn the key back in auxilary and press the gas pedal 3 times. You can turn your daytime running lights off, you can disable the "when you hit 15mph your doors lock". Give it a shot, I'm pretty sure there is a way to get rid of that option.
