Any of these OK-to-carry companies hiring right now? I mop floors good, will even take out the trash and make coffee. Throw in a weekly supply of range ammo and I'll even turn off all the lights after everyone goes home for the day.

I'm a security officer, yet our company doesn't allow weapons on property... and it's technically a church

Funny though. My boss is a CHL instructor, as is one of my coworkers who is also a Glock armorer, and several of our other officers are CHL holders. I think only one of them is not a gun nut :hurry: Our executives are also CHL holders and gun nuts.

After the church shooting in Colorado our CEO wanted security to be armed (we're almost all commissioned after all) but apparently our lawyers talked him out of it :waiting:

Let's just say that our bosses and bosses-bosses are willing to overlook guns in our vehicles ;-)

It was there as a separate policy which made it VERY plain that NO weapons of any kind (guns, knives, etc) were allowed on any of their premises.

The funny thing is, by strict interpretation I've been in violation for years simply because I carry a knife. Whodathunkit?
Hmm... I never thought about looking online for a weapons policy.

I would agree. KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT! Then you can love your job, and continue to love carrying your little friend. I am very fortunate that I have not only been shooting with my employer, helped in teaching his twin daughters to shoot, but he knows that I carry (Ruger SP101 snubbie), tells certain people, and when questioned, tells them that he is glad that I have it. I have explained that under the law, he can carry as well, but he seems to have little interest in that. I will wait to mention that two other members of the staff are looking to get their CHLs, and that at least one of them will be carrying at work afterwards. Our workplace is getting safer all the time. Keep yours safe as well, friend.

Congrats on joining the club of the few who are permitted to carry at work. My employee handbook is very vague on its weapons policy, so I just asked my manager who I heard carries, and he told me, "don's ask, don't tell." So I ask no more and I tell nothing. I work in the Woodlands, aka the "Hoodlands," which seems to be moving away from the world of white bread and picket fences as of late. There have been several armed robberies at the mall, wal-mart and even right outside of my work. I feel safer knowing that I've got my LCP with me at all times, as I open and close quite often with few people around.
