Like all officers, you do open carry with straight is good. Does your holster has the hood too, the L3 thing?

Just did a mental inventory of holsters...it seems I really prefer my FBI canted holsters for most all my guns, with a few exceptions. My J-frame IWB rig tends to stay at a neutral cant with smaller grips, and an FBI cant when I'm running my full-length Crimson Trace grips.
I have straight-up (Comp-Tac) rigs for all the guns I shoot in competition. Oddly enough, about the only time I pull them out is for the larger monthly matches or classifiers...I tend to pull from my carry (FBI) rigs most of the time...started out as a "Defensive Pistol Purist" thing...now just because I'm a bit more comfortable with the FBI arrangement in general.

My duty holster is the safariland with the hood and thumb release. I prefer my off duty holster mimic the vertical draw.

wow I'm surprised at the amount of people that "FBI" carry. I've always carried straight up and down then again the supertuck is comfortable enough to carry in any position.

It's one of those things that is worthwhile trying for yourself to see how it works for you.
The Supertuck is adjustable for cant. You can easily try a few different angles and select the one you like best.

I carry my shorter pistols (3" - 4") straight up and down, but when I carry my full-size 1911, I like it canted forward at about 15 degrees so it doesn't hit the car seat or try to push back up when sitting.
