Good call on ordering from someone else. I ordered a CBST for my G26/4 on 4/18/2011 and I'm still waiting. I got the NRA discount but at this point I'm starting to second guess that choice. Every night when I get home from work I ask the wife if I recieved anything special in the mail today. Knowing her though she'll probably tell me no only to hand it over the next day!

The rep at Crossbreed was very nice and helpful, but said they were at 6 weeks right now because they make them as they get ordered and are that backed up. That pushed me to my decision to order from Midway.

There are pro's and cons on ordering direct from Crossbreed vs. a Dealer:
From Crossbreed you get a 2 week trial with no hassle return; dealer is whatever their return policy is.
From Crossbreed, you get an NRA discount, in this case about $7. However, shipping from Crossbreed is $8.95 and only $4.78 from Midway, so total additional $$ for me was only a little less than $3 which was worth it for the speed of getting the holster.
From Crossbreed you can order a special configuration (horsehide, combat cut, etc.); dealer you take what they have in stock.

Plus side is no matter who you order from, Crossbreed guarantees their holsters for life, so you still get a full warranty. :thumbs2:

So, watch the forum for a huge sale soon as I may be cleaning out my holster drawer of the ones I no longer need! ;-)

My biggest problem with the Comp-TAC Minotaur is poor retention. I've tightened up the Chicago screws, yet I've had my PPS fall out of the holster more than once.

The CBST, on the other hand, dishes the Kydex much more aggressively into the trigger guard, and has NEVER given me any concerns regarding retention.

I've trimmed the CBST to a combat cut myself; hasn't occurred to me to trim the unused lower corners, but might tinker with that.

I dislike the CBST standard clip - I resent someone forcing their religion onto me as a walking billboard, and just attracts attention. I'm going to order the Comp-TAC clips. I use a V-clip in the front of the CBST.

In a perfect world, Crossbreed would start offering a thin leather lining on the inside of the Kydex! :-(

I'd like to get a CBST for the PPS, but have been eyeballing a Tucker The Answer holster. Probably overkill for a polymer gun...

Interesting. Different strokes for different folks. My gun retention has never been an issue in my Comp-Tac Minotaur, but I have had my gun fall out of my CBST onto the bathroom floor on more than one occasion when my pants were around my ankles.

I've never had a retention problem with either holster when my belt was fastened around my waist.

I carried in an MTAC for a while till one day while wearing a tucked in shirt, I noticed the tail of the shirt was stuck between the leather and the kydex. I could not untuck my shirt to draw my weapon. That was the last time I wore it. Made the switch to Crossbreed and havent looked back.

The MTAC was very comfortable, and carried well. It also offered great protection for the pistol.

Thanks for watching my review, even if it didnt help you decide lol

I voted supertuck with velcro, because that is my plan, however I am still working on finding the right clock position for me and may change a couple of times during the day and is easier to do this with the clips

My observations: If I could have the thinness of the supertuck with the shape of the MTAC, I think that would be perfect for me. I dont know what the actuall total thickness of each is, but when I put on the MTAC it is noticeable thicker and my pants are noticeably tighter. However, when I have the supertuck at the depth and clock position that works best for me, the leather under the front clip digs into my upper thigh. I drive 1 1/2 hours one way to work each day and I sit at work about 50% of the time, and I tell you, it is starting to get to me. The metal clips on the supertuck are starting to scuff my belt, so hopefully I can decide on a final clock position and go with the velcro. I have thought about trimming the leather under the front clip, but have been hesitant to, because if it doesnt work out for some reason, it took 7 weeks to recieve mine. That is my one and only beef with Crossbreed. I appreciate the support the company has for its customers on the various forums, the fact they are a small, family business and all, and understand they are working as fast as they can, but a 7 week delivery time on a product that is not really "custom" is going to start loosing them business if they cant figure out how to shorten delievery time.

So, I am going with supertuck for now but and am still working on some issues with it.

You wouldn't be the first person to trim away some of the extra leather below the clips on a CBST. I understand your dilemma about the return, though. You might try calling them and explaining your situation. They might surprise you, and tell you that they'd accept a return even if you trimmed the leather! Stranger things have happened.

I like the velcro hooks as well, but had to compromise - V on the front, and a conventional clip on the back. I have a fairly small waist (32") and a flat back. The gun belts I have are pre-curved and stiff, and as a result don't follow the non-curve of my back well. So the rear velcro clip would get pulled/popped off the belt and not stay secure as well as a conventional clip.

Just recently had someone (who's a gun enthusiast, but not a CHL person) ask me what that clip was for - first time it's come up, after 18 months of carrying! When I told him, he was still confused: he could see the clip, but even when looking carefully he still couldn't figure out where the pistol was. And this was with a full sized M&P tucked under a polo on my 180# frame.

That is good to know. I guess it is xacto knife here I come! lol.

That is funny about the clips. Either I am not as observant at I thought, or folks around my neighborhood carry using something else, but I am always on the scan for the belt clips and after a few months of looking for them, I still havent seen any.

At some point, when I get sufficiently motivated, I'm going to source a clip from another holster manufacturer. I'm *hardly* anti-Christian, but I object to being forced to walk around 'branded' with someone else's agenda. I don't wear clothing with logos on them; this is part & parcel of the same issue. Just not my style.

I recieved my CBST in the mail this past Saturday! The wait time ended up being just two days short of 7 weeks. The first thing that caught my eye was on the package label itself. "In God We Trust" printed on the label. Off to a good start. Once I removed the holster from the package I was impressed. The cross stamped on each metal clip was a nice touch. If anybody happenes to notice the metal clips I can simply tell them its a belt accessory.
