Not to put too fine a point on it, but discussions about thumpers probably should never have the word "plinking" in it.
Oh, thumpers are great fun to plink with, especially when shooting reactive targets.
They just aren't cheap to plink with.
In a pinch, they also work well to "chop" down trees, depending on size of course, when your axe is elsewhere or for "chopping" logs for firewood.
