She has brought up the fact that we need to start practicing safety drills with the girls (3) just like our fire drills.

What are the ages of your girls? I'll have 3 myself come July. The 2 we have now are 11 month olds and will be 16 months old when the new one gets here. My wife and I have started the conversation about who will do what in an emergency situation.
I think you had a bat or owl hit your door. In addition to the game cam you could get a battery powered motion detecting spotlight. I picked up one of these but have yet to install it. Mr.Beams

Guys to give you a little heads up. I have a degree in Wildlife Management so I have dealt with large cats before. The slap on the door was not light. It was hard enough that my wife heard it through two shut pocket doors while she was sleeping. Once again this is the only time recently that my dogs have not growled or barked when something has been outside.
By the reaction of my cat, I think it is the mountain lion. We lost a cat shortly after moving out here because he smelled another "cat", be it a mountain lion or bobcat, in heat and went after it only to never return. This cat was acting the same way that night.

...talkin' and drinkin coffee with my workin' bud a few minutes ago...he's an old country boy from McKinney area...he was really surprised that your dogs didn't bark up...I don't think a human could have snuck up on the house that well...betcha you're right...good huntin'!!!

I will never forget the sound of that cat screaming.

That is no joke. I have only crossed paths with a cat one time and I will never forget it. Sadly, I never did see it as it was pitch black out but it sounded ridiculously close. My hand stayed glued to the grip of my Super Redhawk the rest of the way to the stand.

I hope and wish that somehow a law will be drafted that allows law abiding citizens to carry concealed at work. By that I mean, you employers rules cannot force you to leave it in the car. I know that opens a different can of worms, but I feel very naked at work. This is specially true with the number of psych patients forced to see primary care for treatment. Ok back to reality and work.
