I couldn't tell you how they compare because I've never owned a Beltman belt myself. I will say for the price and the level of customization I believe they are a great deal. I owned a 5.11 stitched leather belt before and I know that the one I have now is stiffer than the 5.11 with the kydex insert.

My only issue with mine is that I ordered based on what I thought I needed, but it turned out a couple inches too small. Still works wonderfully but it's a little close when I'm wearing IWB.
