Re: Concealing An AK
There is no prohibition in Texas against carrying a loaded long gun, either openly or concealed. However, you will attract a lot less attention walking down the street carrying a tennis racket bag than you would openly carrying an AK. There's a well-circulated picture on the web of a guy riding his motorcycle on a highway with an AK strapped on his back. I'm willing to bet that pic never would have been taken if he had been riding with a "tennis racket" strapped on in the same manner. Remember, just because doing something isn't illegal, doesn't mean that it's smart.

If carrying a long gun concealed is illegal then nearly every deer/dove/duck hunter in the State is breaking the law. Almost all of them carry them in cases - - - Sure, sure they are "gun" cases but what's to say there aren't golf clubs or fishing rods in them????C-dub wrote:I don't know. Re: Concealing An AK
I've conceded that it is not illegal. I was thinking that there is a difference between walking around with a rifle with a folding stock inside a tennis racket bag than in a case in a vehicle. Even before CHL and MPA it was legal to transport a handgun to and from a range in a vehicle, but I don't think one could do so with it loaded and within reach. I had no basis for saying it was illegal and I didn't say it was. I didn't know, so I asked.MoJo wrote:If carrying a long gun concealed is illegal then nearly every deer/dove/duck hunter in the State is breaking the law. Furniture upgrade to better Komunist wood
(fixed that pesky little muzzle brake pin while I was at it)

Grip upgrade because that's just what men do

Looking good. I think my eventual plans for my AMD-65 include that Hogue grip and replacing the frying pan front handguard/grip with a MI rail so I can mount a red dot and maybe a stubby grip so mag changes are easier.
