I use a Fobus paddle when I'm shooting out in the country, It is cheap but sturdy, easy to put on/off, and retains the pistol well. However, it is not something I would ever use for serious work, such as concealed carry....

Fobus Holsters
I went to the beach today in Galveston. I had on my fobus paddle holster. I had on a unde shirt and a button up. My family and I had people every where. We were on Stewart Beach. About 700 to 800 people there. No one known I had a Glock 23 in 40 cal on my side at 3 o'clock. Now i could not get into the water, but I had fun with the children in the sand.

You spent good money on a quality firearm, CHL course and training, don't buy a cheap holster.

Removing the gun requires the full cooperation of the "disarmee". He has to stand there and provide a firm platform in order for the "disarmer" to break the holster, while doing nothing to prevent it. Not to mention, he has to be open carrying in order to be targeted for such an attack.dpatterson wrote:I remembered a post by TXI...

A Fobus would not be my choice for open carry. But given that they're cheap, comfortable, effective, and available for pretty much everything, there's no reason not to have one for all your pistols, just in case you want to (or have to) carry something different than the pistol that fits your nice custom holster.
And yes, I'm sitting here wearing the Fobus that I've had on for the past 15 hours. Quite comfortably. And no one smashed my holster and stole my pistol.
Don't get me wrong, when I upgrade my daily carry, I'll also buy a nice leather IWB holster. In the meantime, I have no complaints with my Fobus.
