Black Rifle Disease.
Now that you've got one build like this, you start thinking about building one a different way, or a new caliber, or this or that.
I know, I have it bad and the only "AR" I own is a stripped lower. I'm so paralyzed by possibilities (and I keep putting other gun purchases in front of it) that I haven't built it yet, and I've owned it for almost a year.
<Uses Hypnotic voice> Come visit me. I have something to cure that BRD.
You never know. I just might one of these days. I don't get down to P-ville as often as I used to, but if I do I may just give you a ring and stop by.

I'm about to put down some coin for a Palmetto State Armory stripped lower. I may have some inspiration for an upper receiver, I like the look of that.
I did this a while back and got around 4lbs. I used:
Cut down Cav Arms polymer lower (has polymer FCG as well)
16" pencil barrel with threads cut off and crowned. (save a lot of weight without flashider and bulged/threaded end)
Trimmed front sight down to bare minimum (lopped off top and rounded all edges) and used MagPul polymer flip sights. That front sight is a lot of weight.
Daniel Defense titanium handguards carbine length (very lite)
Removed forward assist and put in plastic plug
removed dustcover, pin and spring.
10 rd mag
Loaded you could hold at arms length and not tire easily. However you will find recoil to be significantly greater on that light of an AR. I sold it for that reason, kicked like a 45.
