The House is voting now. Just sent an email to my rep pleading with him to vote against the deal.

It passed the House, and the Prez is headed back to Hawaii.

No doubt to spike the football.

There is no Republican party. Unbelievable.

Republicans: 85 Yeahs to 151 Nays. Total in favor: 257. Boehner's speakership is over. My guess is that Cantor will mount a successful challenge to unseat him. What's scarier is that this is how the AWB or some parts of it could pass.

FISCAL CLIFF DEAL: $1 IN SPENDING CUTS FOR EVERY $41 IN TAX INCREASES
According to the Congressional Budget Office, the last-minute fiscal cliff deal reached by congressional leaders and President Barack Obama cuts only $15 billion in spending while increasing tax revenues by $620 billion—a 41:1 ratio of tax increases to spending cuts.
Boehner is a bonehead.

.........Oh, and to put the magnitude of this republican collapse in perspective, THIS is the republican house which we are hoping will stop the AWB freight train?

If we do nothing else as a result of this vote, we need to find a different Texas Senator for the next election cycle. There are a whole lot of GOP Senators that should be looking for new jobs.

I cannot believe that Paul Ryan voted for this catastrophe.

I don't think this vote is the one we should judge people on. I think this was a no win situation. You vote no and the left gets everything they want and a lot of people would blame the right.

The vote we should be mad about was the one that got us here to begin with.

Someone needs to ask Senator Cornyn to explain why he voted in favor of this mess. And ask him to reply in no-non-sense Texas terms, not some Washington Beltway politician double-speak. Its the backroom deal stuff that is really ticking me off. I am opposed to that which affects my liberties, it ain't just about the money, but an indicator of standing one's ground or giving in to look good, a matter of PRINCIPLES...I don't care if they are doing it for Karl Marx, Agenda 21, the Bilderberg Group, The Illuminati, Mother Earth, space aliens, the ancient fire god Moloch or all of them rolled into one. I just want them to come out and say "You stupid peasants just aren't smart enough to understand, now make obeisance and tug your forelock as we come by", that would at least let you know where folks stand...but nope, better to obfuscate the situation and play little games, little wordy parlor-tricks. Ridiculous. Due to this kind of "bi-partisan" thing now I want to know: is our esteemed Senator Cornyn going to "play ball" with the Democrats on gun control, too? Malarkey! :mad5

Congress will not stop any new gun control legislation.

No one is elected to congress who has not been chosen by The Powers That Be.

The chosen ones must obey TPTB.

Even when some of the chosen ones vote against legislation showing the appearance of standing up against TPTB, they vote as they are told.

I can't believe some people still think these jokers will stop a gun ban.

My only question now is whether I will get more money selling my AKs and stripped AR lowers at the Pasadena show this weekend or the Conroe show next weekend.
