Re: Going Rate for AK-47 Ammo

Re: Going Rate for AK-47 Ammo
A couple weeks ago Gun Gear to Go had some 1k round boxes for $300. I know they've since sold out, but I haven't been by recently enough to know if they've restocked or not.AndyC wrote:30c per round - not bad at all. Nice find
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

Re: Going Rate for AK-47 Ammo
If anyone is looking for 7.62x39, earlier today centerfiresystems.com has Tula in-stock for $7.49/box of 20. Now if they would only get some 5.45x39 in-stock.

Re: Going Rate for AK-47 Ammo
Tula is the cheapests Russian Ammo, should be some $150 to $180 per 1,000 rds. At 2X I should be in the Ammo business!urnoodle wrote:If anyone is looking for 7.62x39, earlier today centerfiresystems.com has Tula in-stock for $7.49/box of 20. Now if they would only get some 5.45x39 in-stock.

Re: Going Rate for AK-47 Ammo
It's definitely higher than it should be. The only ammo I'm buying right now is .22lr and 5.45x39 since I can't reload them. I can't find either in stock though.

Geez, for that price they should be gaining stock... Didn't the same stuff go for like $6.50 or $7.00 a month ago?SF18C wrote:http://www.bulkammo.com/rifle/bulk-7.62x54r-ammo

Re: Going Rate for AK-47 Ammo
One of the Wal-Marts here in Waco (Bellmead) had Tula 7.62x39 FMJ 20 round boxes in stock last night. They were selling for $5.29 each. They were also limiting customers to 6 boxes of ammo per person per day. My roommate went with me and we bought the last 12 boxes they had.
It seems normally priced (pre-panic) ammo CAN be found, but it is all about being at the right place at the right time.
One of the guys in line at the ammo counter there last night tried to get me to bite on a "deal" for a case of AK ammo. It went something like this:
Him: "You're buying that AK ammo? You wanna buy a case of it?"
Me: "How many rounds?"
Him: "Oh, I don't know like 500 or 1000."
Me: "You mean 640?"
Him: "Yeah that's it."
Me: "How much?"
Him: "$500"
Me: *resisting the urge to laugh* "Considering that I just bought a 640 round case of Tula at Academy across town for $189.99 last weekend, I think I'll pass. I'm not that desperate."
Him: *suddenly realizing he wasn't dealing with some random moron* "Oh..."
I wanted to say more to that idiot, but the lady working the ammo/gun counter last night was insanely cute (and not to mention, competent), so I held back.
