We are moving to Houston in May and after a year or so I'd like to get into a Tundra. Might be a bit longer we intend to pay cash for it.
Be sure and look hard at the Tundra CrewMax. I think my daughter's entire second grade class could fit into the back seat of my wife's...
I have the CrewMax. The backseat is like a living room. Love the 387hp. Plan on adding dual exhaust which will take me a little over 400hp.
10,000 lb towing is nice to have also.

I drive an Access Cab '06 Toyota Tacoma 4-cylinder with the 5-speed manual. I've got over 90K on it now and its still going pretty well. I did have the clutch changed out at 50K but turned out to be the throw-out bearing and the discs were in pretty good shape. Changed brakes and had the rotors turned @ 75K. Other than that, just the usual oil and filter stuff. Pretty happy overall. Its not the fanciest truck in the world, but it gets decent mileage and it goes, goes, goes! When its time, I'll go looking for another Toyota.

Congrats on the new vehicle, snatchel. I'm sure it will serve you and your family well.

Thanks everyone!

Yeah, I'm a Toyota fan boy. I'm as patriotic as the next guy, but I'm not going to buy any more garbage American vehicles for the sake of buying American made products. If I'm going to spend $36K on a vehicle, I want to get every dime of it. I won't go so far as to say that all American made vehicles are garbage--but resale and depreciation don't lie. And there is the fact that I've never had ANY problems with any of the Toyota's I have ever owned.

This is the 3rd Toyota we have owned. The wife's Corrola has never had ANY issues, even with the amount of mileage we have put on it. The Sequoia I bought in 2006 was a gem. Well over 100K miles, never a problem. The Chevy Cruze I just got out of was a rattle trap. It was nice for the first 20,000 miles, but then the rattles came. Panels started coming loose, fenders started coming loose. Thankfully, never any real mechanical problems... but it was on it's way there i'm pretty sure. I traded it at 49,XXX miles-- I wanted out of it before any real issues started.

Toyota is what it is. Call it the Glock of Automobiles. Functional, reliable, and affordable.

Here's a pic I took of it today on the way home from ATX.

I have an '02 4Runner and can't say enough good things about it. Almost up to 200K miles. They are kinda like the old vw bugs. There are enough of the old models still on the road today to attest to their reliability (some still with their original owner)!

I have an '02 Pathfinder SE 4WD with 150,000 miles on it and it is still running like a champ. I'm going to drive it 'til the doors fall off. The older 4Runners and Pathfinders are great cars. Can't say enough about 'em.

BTW Tass, I love your signature line. I'm going to share it with my wife. Sounds like something a couple of the women in my church would say.
