So, you're pumping ethyl or whatever, someone says something untoward to you and you take umbrage. Untoward umbrager pulls knife and advances. Umbragee stops pumping ethyl, or whatever, walks around vehicle, retrieves vehicle keys from ignition, goes back around vehicle, opens trunk, gets long gun, turns and blasts knife wielding umbrager.

How silly is that? :smilelol5:

[sarcasm] She should have stayed in the car and let the police handle it [sarcasm].

well honestly we have no idea what happened since she bailed without even claiming self defence. She could of got the gun and told the guy "Leave or I'll shoot you" and he could of swung the knife in "self-defence". Without more info it's too hard to say.

Poochie would never hurt anyone. How funny is that? One less "poochie" for someone else to run into pumping gas.

I have no issue with her shooting him. He shouldn't have bothered her to begin with. Perhaps it was due to disrespect as some of the posters stated, or maybe it was because he did mouth off sexually towards her, don't care. Where does an assault begin? Leave folks alone and you probably won't get shot or otherwise molested. She sure didn't appear to have started the row, so in my mind he was the aggressor. I know, she should have got in her car and attempted to run away, keep her head down and allow a stranger to verbally abuse her and etc. Would that have emboldened him to actually physically assault her? Unknown and he sure aint talking. But she didn't and all my praise to her at least. There was a reason why in the Old West one didn't go around asking another their name or otherwise get in their business. An armed society is a polite society. :cheers2:

Looked like the guy was provoking some sort of altercation to me...

Not to worry...

Quanel X is involved now so I am sure we'll hear the truth soon...

Playing the devils advocate here, but honestly I think without knowing anything about their discussion I don't think you can make the call. By the vid it certainly looks like at that moment she was defending herself. The uncertainty is that was she in the midst of illegal activity when called on to defend herself. If so that would tend to effect if the shooting was an offence or not. My personal opinion would tend to favor her but certainly the cops need to follow up.

And, apparently the cops have decided to punt, with the grand jury getting to make the call.

It was reported today on the radio that Quanell X is helping the woman avoid an indictment. He believes this was a clear case of "stand your ground" and she was well with in her rights to shoot and kill the man.

Did someone mention in another post earlier about pigs flying.

I guess Mr. X is only in favor of "stand your ground" when it applies to black shooters :headscratch

Well, I watched it and was undecided by what I saw. It seemed as if she had the opportunity to leave.

Boy, I tell you what, getting sidetracked and reading the Houston news is not a good way to start your day. That was scary and depressing!
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

Isn't it the case that all violent homicides are referred to the Grand Jury in Texas?
