Somebody(AndyC) on this forum has a tag line of "Remember kitty Genovese" Google it and read her story. I know from past experience if I see a person being victimized I cannot stand by and do nothing its not in my blood and makes the wife mad. That does not mean I jump up and start waving a gun around either, sometimes a simple "Hold it" or "Stop" is enough, sometimes you may have to get physical maybe even against reasonable odds but to stand by and do nothing is just wrong. We already have to many rubber necks in the world. Before some jump in an say we may not know the full story it is really simple, at that moment there is a victim, now the victim may have been the bad guy in the beginning but if he/she is now the victim then I guess the decision is simple, stop it and the police can sort it out. Who knows you may have prevented a good guy/gal from going to jail on aggravated assault/murder charges.

Folks pulling off to the shoulder to allow faster traffic to pass is very common in west Texas. Usually those passing end up giving a friendly thank you wave in return. It's a much slower, more laid back way of life....

I've certainly gotten over on the shoulder a few times, usually because 5-over isn't enough for the tailgater trying to merge bumpers with me. :grumble Better to let them go and hope one of texanjoker's compadres is up ahead to catch them doing it to someone else, before they hurt someone else.

I still maintain that my CHL is to defend me, my family, and friends, and perhaps my property under certain circumstances. I don't have a lot of money, so if I do something where I am going to need a lawyer, I have to make sure its worth it, not just to me, but for my family as well.

I would do exactly what I would have done if I didn't have a CHL.
