I don't recall being wanded the few times I've been there, but if I try to enter with my pistol, do I show them the CHL & they'll let me in or will they give me notice?
If you show them a CHL they will tell you that you can't carry. Your best bet is to just carry and if they are wanding, go back to the car with it.
Just to clarify, would you go back to put your gun in the car before being checked or would you wait to see if they detect the gun and tell you you can't carry there? I have a feeling the wanding at a lot of places is just for show and may not do a good job at detecting.

I really worry about going through a wanding. It would be my luck for them to do a thorough job on me, discover and then hone in on the gun, escalating it to a MWAG call to police before I could prove that I'm legally carrying. At the first hint of wanding, as long as it is a private and not a public location, I'm going to make a go or no go decision. If I'm going to go ahead and try to go in, it is going to be after a trip back to the car. If a governmental entity is involved, I'm going to push it and want the LEOs there. I have no confidence that a private security outfit understands CHL. I was wanded and the machine alerted on both my gun and my spare mag. Fortunately, LE was already there and waved me through.

I would do the same as above and once I saw wanding I would go back. You might get lucky, but if they find it at minimum they will give you verbal notice they don't want you carrying.

That's the plan of action I had in my head, so we'll see how it goes tonight. Since tonight is about Dallas area bands, not just one, we'll see if they bother to wand or not.

1st: I didn't see any wanding going on.
2nd: I didn't go through the main entrance. I ended up going through the foundation entrance. I sat for awhile with some friends in the restaurant & saw a blue sign. I saw no other signage.
3rd: My band won! Best Cover Band 2013 by the Dallas Observer Music Awards!

Glad that it worked out well for you. I wonder if the main entrance would have made any difference in your approach. Sometimes, the security theater is more pronounced at the place where the greatest deterrent effect could be realized. They obviously are not really serious about security or the foundation entrance would have had more.
Their approach may vary by the size of the audience that they are expecting or perhaps even the specific artist.
