There are plenty of people walking the streets in downtown Austin who are having a good time.

That is until they run into a bunch of thugs beating on people. Or obnoxious drunks, etc.

We follow a general rule in our house. No city outings after dark. No outing to inner city. Has kept us safe for a long long time. You could have a celtic festival with Irish hymns, step dancing, and corned beef with potatoes (my weaknesses), but if it is in the wrong part of town or only available after 7pm it is so sorry charlie.

I don't know what started the fight, but I would bet it's a stupid reason.

Events such as this is one reason I avoid large crowds.
