I have a solution! This is where all the OC advocates could stage their demonstrations. Denny's could really benefit from this. Surely all the would be BG's are not going to take down a restaurant with a bunch of rifle toting patrons. They will take one look in the window before entering and change their minds immediately!

Maybe it's time to eat out with 4 other CHL friends just to tip the odds in your favor.
If you are alone and carrying a low capacity firearm against 5 armed men, the odds are not in your favor at all. Especially if you are sitting in a booth. Eating at home is just looking better and better.

The 2 AM breakfast runs to Denny's were a staple in college. Of course this was in sleepy San Luis Obispo, CA, not Houston.

These group robberies are getting unnerving. Thankfully we rarely eat out anymore (better for the waistline and the checking account).

I've said it before but a gun fight in a restaurant is about as big of a nightmare scenario as I can imagine as a CHL. I just hope I'd be carrying my Glock 19 with a G17 mag as a reload.

Absolutely! Think about this when you're deciding whether to carry that big heavy 1911 (or hi-cap), or the 5-round snubby or .32 Kel-Tec. And there's no reason to carry an extra mag or two, because you'll never need them . . . unless of course you do.

Interesting you say this. Every time I drop my little Colt Mustang in my pocket to leave the house for a quick errand, I always say to myself, I hope I don't regret this. At least most of the time I normal take my hi-power along and keep it in my truck when I'm too lazy to put it on.

The parking lot is pretty far when there's multiple hoodlums between you and the front door.

I agree. Sometimes laziness overrides my prudence.

Maybe I should just go ahead and carry my long gun with me. :biggrinjester:

Whenever I'm carrying, which is 99% of the time, I always have a reload mag in my pocket.
