Give an inch here. Give an inch there. Eventually gain an inch or two somehow, somewhere. I remember reading about similar suggestions and false hope back in the 1930's and 1940's. In Europe.
It's fine if you disagree. I can't force you to be correct.

A recent increase in the number 30.06 signs is a DIRECT fallout from all the ill-conceived Open Carry Texas demonstrations with long guns.

THANK you all you crazy people for screwing it up for the rest of us. You said you were trying to "educate" the public". Well......you did. You taught them to be scared of crazies with guns, and to demand that businesses post signs to keep them out.

And here we are.....

You said it. I think people walking around with long guns in public just to rub it in a company's face that doesnt like guns is a really poor move. Education is the key not these protests.

Take Starbucks for instants. Last I heard the ASKED people not to carry guns in their shops. Until I see 30.06 posted someplace I go about my business. I love Target. I go in there all the time and I legally conceal carry. If they post 30.06 they no longer get my money. Simple as that. I just hope these demonstrations die out. It just hurts those of us who legally conceal carry in the end.
