Am I just not savvy enough to pull out my phone and start filming? If I'd been there, that would not be at the top of my priority list. Heck, I probably couldn't even find the video recorder. I am pretty sure I'd be getting the heck out of 'dodge'.

Hard to believe how brazen and stupid this crime was. Glad they were quickly arrested. Could have ended very badly for customers and the first arriving police.

Who are these thugs? Any information released? Part of a known local or across-the-border gang? Incredible.

People who are savvy with their phone cameras like that don’t understand those display cases are concealment, not cover. I’m not running towards the sounds of gunshots armed with a phone camera!

In a recent statement, McAllen Chief of Police identified 'orange shirt' as an off-duty McAllen PD officer, and 'blue shirt' as an off-duty Pharr PD (adjacent city to the east) officer, both of whom were shopping in the mall with their families at the time of the robbery.

Some of those involved have been tried and sentenced. Note that one of them had pulled the same type of robbery in Los Angeles and was caught, sentenced, and deported after serving his time.
