Is it just me, or did the prosecutor just define "beyond a reasonable doubt" as "beyond any doubt"?
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

It's all over - up to the Jury now.

Which makes me wonder why the judge needs a conference with the attorneys.

Maybe to explain what constitutes "reasonable" to the prosecution?

Whatever it means, it's now too late for the lawyers to do anything about it.

Maybe MOM can explain it to the judge for the jury instructions.

If they follow defense advice and ask themselves if the state proved beyond reasonable doubt that Z did not have justification for using deadly force, which the state did not, then I expect a verdict of not guilty before 3:30. If it goes longer I would expect a guilty of manslaughter verdict as a compromise between facts and feelings. Sad.

I tip my hat to those early on who said wait. Much of what media said was either totally incorrect or twisted slightly to misrepresent. Bravo to the forum vets! :tiphat:

Here is an interesting thought..... :rules:

if the jury returns a guilty verdict today, is GZ going to be immediately taken back into custody? I've seen it go both ways.

Most likely, yes. And, TBH, solitary confinement is probably the best (definitely the safest) place for him while going through the appeals (which, according to Andrew Branca, will take at least a year just for the first one).

All I know is if they convict George Zimmerman, it won't be safe for any Mexican American who has light skin to walk the streets in Florida. It will be open season on them.
