Just got home from Nashville, and waiting for me on my kitchen table (baby sitter brought in the mail while I was gone) was an envelope from DPS, and in there was PLASTIC BABY.

congrats.
See, not stalking the mailbox made the time go by, and no worrying or wondering. Magic! LOL
To all you waiting, this is the hardest part of the process.
Just remember the old adage: "a watched pot never boils"

Thanks Teamless, you have been a great supporter. Time for all you others that have been pulling your hair out to see if yours has changed this morning also. Spread the great news and camp out by your mailbox.

God Bless Texas!

A lot of it depends on how complicated your background is and if you reported anything to them. Mine took a long time because I have had 6 addresses and 3 employers in the past 6 years plus a disorderly conduct. Also need to remember that they have to break for the Census deal which probably backed the FBI up some.

I understand. I have had a number of security clearances ranging from crypto in the military to an ael for los alamos. It used to freak my neighbors out big time when the FBI types would would knock on their door and ask if I was a good guy. As far as citations go I am clean in that department.
Time marches on..............

I was out in the garage and all of a sudden I hear screaming from across the house "IT'S MAILED! IT'S MAILED! IT'S MAILED!"
I come in with a puzzled look on my face and I get that grin: "My license is in the mail! Finally!"
Here's the timeline:
Wife's packet hand-delivered to DPS 4/12/10
Wife's Check cashed 4/13/10
Wife's PIN received 4/28/10 (Letter dated 4/26)
Wife's license: to be printed pending application review 5/14/10
Wife's license: to manufacturing 5/15/10
Wife's license: mailed 5/22/10
40 days with the FBI stop in the middle. Not bad, I guess. Looks like we're headed to Cabela's tomorrow afternoon. Try and leave some primers for me, please!

Thanks for all the congrats. I haven't been able to do a wally walk yet. As soon as I got home I crashed and haven't left the house except for going to church this morning, and I didn't carry to church, though there is always one in my car.
Hopefully all the others will be right behind me in getting their plastic. I know a few are in mailed status, just don't scare the mailman too bad when you run full speed at him to see if he has your plastic in his hand
