And I've got a photo sitting next to me that my mum dug out of the family archives. It's me in Primary 4 (I think), which is like nine years old...

The teacher is standing next to us, he looks to be my age, say 35-40 (OK, I'm 41 but cut me some slack ... )

So if I'm now 41, that photo was taken thirty-two years ago, the teacher is going to be at least 67, possibly up to 72, 73.

How about a story about a Jewish Frenchman moving to Texas who gets a CHL? Think about the differences in lifestyles, culture, religion, history, geography and cuisine that you could exploit. Heck, you could do a whole chapter about barbeque and beer! There are a lot of possibilties!

Uhh...that's gonna be kind of like the Amish Electronics Handbook without pork ribs or catfish. :D

OTOH, it could make for an interesting travel guide with an outside perspective.

That video seems to be talking more about a police interview then not speaking to the police at all. If there are witnesses/cameras that can tell the police what happened i would not say anything. If it was just me and a body i would make a short statement and shut up.

Think about it, you will have to call 911, how evasive do you think you can be with them and still tell them why you need an ambulance without sounding suspicious. You might as well tell the cops what you told the 911 operator.

I agree... I think one may want to separate out the initial statement to police (which may be used against you as it is a voluntary statement and will be noted by police); and the interview process.

With that said initial comments to police should be limited to: "I am willing to cooperate, however I am not prepared to be questioned at length..." Then request the ability to confer with your legal council for guidance prior to giving a statement.

...In that situation your best action is to leave as soon as possible. Maybe you can leave before shooting the criminal or maybe you have to shoot him before you run away.

I seem to recall where a man shot and killed an alleged robber at his home recently... and then tried to ditch the body somewhere. Somehow, police caught up to him and found out he ditched the body, and then revealed that his actions were of self-defense, and he ditched the body in order to avoid lawsuits. I can fully understand his reasoning, but still...

The man defending his home experiences a break-in, where he shot one of the intruders while the other escaped with stolen property. He ditched the body because he has a felony conviction from the 1990's, and knew that felons and firearms don't mix. Apparently the intruder DID NOT die. The homeowner is no longer a suspect!

CHL/LEO didn't quote that comment. The very first line in my post. Instead he quoted me out of context by selecting a snippet of my other comment and chose to cut out the context. I said where I think it's best to unass the AO. Places where you go directly to jail for having a gun, like israel67 said.

I always imagine what would happen here. Guns are illegal, full stop so if you carry one, you're breaking the law.

If you want to admit to the cops in some foreign country that you're illegally carrying a gun, you can do it. But I won't.

Sorry. You are mistaken. The 13th post in this Topic is CHL/LEO's reply in question, and he quoted the entirety of your post--number 12 in this Topic--including your first line, and even including your embedded quotation of israel67. He simply repeated the quotation of the line with which he was in disagreement as he addressed it. He cut nothing out of your post.

I wasn't trying to launch an attack or be snide. I was simply concerned that readers would interpret your recent post as implication CHL/LEO had said that making a short statement to police was horrible advice. We all know that is not what he was referring to.
