Thank you longtooth for clearing that up.

Take away the second first, and the first is gone in a second.

I've been out of school for a few years now, but the church I work for meets on our college campus, so I'm in a very similar boat. I'm up at the college late on Saturday nights in a fairly secluded area, so self-defense (and protecting those around me) is a priority for me.

I always carry a good knife a flashlight and my mulit-tool with me while I'm up on campus, and I make sure my gun is locked in my car, so I can get to it if necessary. I am planning on getting some OC to carry up there as well... just haven't gotten around to it.

I'm sure someone has mentioned this already, but there is no law prohibiting carrying these on a campus. The school may have policies against it, but that would only be an issue if you had to use them- and in that case I will choose the option to defend myself over school policy.

Is it known to be lethal or have permanent affects in certain cases? I know OC has caused a few deaths.
There have been several cases of people reportedly dying after being sprayed with OC, being TASERed, struggling with police. In every case the person had consumed illegal drugs and fought the police.

Autopsies have never placed the OC/TASER/fight as the cause of death.
