While I would not done what this man did I can see why he did what he did.

I'm sorry everyone, but if I hear someone or think I hear someone in my backyard or house at night, my bank account is going to be one of the furthest things from my mind.

I might not have fired in this scenario, but I wasn't there. I'd like to think I would not have fired in this case, but not because of money. I've worked with many Alzheimer patients and don't remember many or any of them being violent. If this guy was lost or confused I have a hard time believing he would have appeared aggressive towards the homeowner.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

The homeowner has not been charged. Sheriff Wilson says the investigation is still open.
