It's a complex issue without a simple perfect solution. I think most on here are trying to make sure people know and understand on what you are spending your hard earned money. Many people think they have coverage under their homeowners policy. Neither I have or my wife has seen one policy in 17 years of selling insurance and my wife with 25 years experience cover the intentional act of shooting someone. Now the accidental shooting or even the negligent shooting of someone that is not proven to be a criminal act, maybe.

How does [pre-paid legal] respond if you as a shooter is convicted of a crime for shooting someone? What about defending you against a civil suit if convicted? How much of the settlement will they cover?

At the time of a claim is the ultimate wrong time to find out what is covered. I think of he programs very similarly to prepaid legal services. They seem to over a lot but the really don't. That's just my opinion and not a slam to any one.

Very true mojo. I did a lot of research and the two I found I liked was the NRA one and the [pre-paid legal] one. I went with [pre-paid legal], not that I think one is better than the other. I guess I took a couple'a comments wrong. At the beginning of every year my wife and I set down and donate to a few causes we like. As we are both retired the list is short. The first check I write is alway to the NRA. That puts me on a call list from the NRA and I get two or three a year from them. I always give a little extra because I believe in the cause. But they always start off with a sales pitch saying I will lose all my rights if I don't support the cause. A sales pitch. What company, person ect. that wants your money doesn't have a sales pitch. Thats just part of the game. I've never met Wayne LaPier (not sure of the spelling) but I always give and support. I apologize for taking any offense that offended anyone.
