Congrats, but when did you turn in your app, when did your background check start, etc?

I want to know because it seems that people about 2 weeks ahead of me in the process are getting their plastic now. Which hopefully means I'll be getting mine in two weeks. Knowing my luck, that won't be the case. :(

Well, this was for my wife's license. I've had mine just over a year, and that was in the midst of the flood of apps that constipated the whole works for months on end. Here's the timeline:

Wife's packet hand-delivered to DPS 4/12/10
Wife's Check cashed 4/13/10
Wife's PIN received 4/28/10 (Letter dated 4/26)
Wife's license: to be printed pending application review 5/14/10
Wife's license: to manufacturing 5/15/10
Wife's license: mailed 5/22/10
Wife's license received: 5/28/10

What I don't get is it took 2 days to get her PIN letter, 2 days for me to get my PIN letter, and 2 days for me to get my license; yet it took 6 days to get her license. I blame it on the mailman. He's been screwing up our delivery lately.

Hopefully you won't have much longer to wait, either!

Well checked online today and my status has moved to "manufacturing pending" so the wait should be over soon and the coveted plastic should arrive!!!!

Yes! My fingerprints and background check have changed to completed over the weekend! I'm also now at "Manufacturing Pending"

Congrats, things do move over in Austin, just not always as fast as the rest of us would like LOL

4-11 - CHL renewal class
4-12 - paid online for renewal packet
4-16 - received packet
4-19 - mailed out packet
currently - Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing Pending

Huh......no wit says background check under reveiw?? Still waiting.

I called today and spoke to a very put out girl. She said that my License has been printed and mailed and that I should get it in about a week to 10 days. But the web site still shows that I am manufacturing... Not sure if she is telling the truth or just trying to get me off the phone.

I checked the system and I am 100% GREEN!

I think that they have pat answers for each situation. I got the same response when I called, but I got my plastic about 4 days after it went to mailed status. If she said it is mailed, it is on it's way, but of course they send it the slowest way possible. You're almost there. Early congratulations to ya.

I have been in the "Manufacturing Pending" status for seven days now. Sooooooooooo I sent the CHL folks a very polite e-mail asking status as my total wait time is now 53 plus days. I received a reply within an hour (that's good) however, it stated: "Your application has been approved and you should be receiving your licensed in 7-10 days." I am sure that SMOOTHboar and I received the standard response (that's bad).

On the plus side I received my Deluxe Super Tuck holster with belt as promised within three weeks. I am impressed with the quality. Now to wearing it (only around the house) to get used to it.

Time marches on...............

So I am now all greens and no longer am I stalking the CHL Website. AND I KNOW I know that there is no possible way! Not a sliver of hope, Not a chance in hell, No a wish upon a star, No fiary god mother, or a Wing and a Prayer that my license will be in the mail box!. No chance!!!

But I went and checked my mail box anyway... SO Now I Stalk The Mail Carrier. Like so many of you before me.

Who would have thought that a sain individual. With a certain amount of patence and reason. A law abiding! Tax paying citizen! Of Which... the Great State of Texas would issue a CHL too... would be so bull headed and illogical.
