CHL class: 2/??/09
mailed: 4/26/10
rec'vd DPS: N/A
DPS cashed check: None to cash
PIN: N/A

Will update once I get more info. Yeah, I took my time between the class and submitting the application, but I figured that I might as well submit my application before I separated from Active Duty. Let's hope that they don't reject my application because they didn't have a checkbox for the Active Duty application fee, had to make my own. "rlol"

The money I saved from all my contacts and hookups during the application building process saved me enough money to purchase an IWB holster and dedicated leather gun belt. Let's see what gets to me first: The holster, or the plastic. My bet is on the holster and belt thanks to the halt on FBI fingerprint checks.

Tomorrow the FBI freeze on fingerprint checks begins. I guess I can wait the extra couple of weeks..

Teamless, any update on your plastic, would thought you would have it by now.

You can check the status on the DPS Website, but basically, if all is right, it will be about 30 days (or so)

Nope, it was approved on Friday, along with Quahogs, and we potentially 'could' have had them on Saturday, but did not expect them.
We figured Monday, no show
yesterday, must be - but no.

So today, even with very very very mail service, we should have it.
Quahog lives right down the street from me, he will be home when the mail comes, and if it is there, he is going to let me know.

Well, since the letter was dated Monday, 4/26, I wonder if the prints have already been run through, or if there is a wait coming here...

Wife's packet hand-delivered to DPS 4/12/10
Wife's Check cashed 4/13/10
Wife's PIN received 4/28/10 (Letter dated 4/26)

Man, this looks like light speed compared to mine!

So if I get a pin, where does that put my status? Let me explain. Do they issue a pin when they open the envelope or do they issue a pin when your app is entered? Also if your app is entered and processing, does that mean your prints are good or background is good? I am getting jumpy

Each application is issued a Pin
Example: I did my application online, paid the fee and they mailed me the application back for signature and to attached all the required documents.
With the completed application came the Pin.
So it really does not mean anything, other than they have seen your application.

You can check your status at http://www.texasonline.state.tx.us/NASA ... ctTask.jsp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and click the link "Track the Status of your Application"
Check the box for DL and put the # (or ID if no DL)
Put in your SS#
DOB
Pin and submit.

Good Luck!

Just checked status--app incomplete-- any ideas? I've never been in jail and went over the checklist 6 or 7 times :banghead:

You might have an issue...it's my understanding that you only have one year to send everything in. You're app went in 14 months later...you may have to take the class again.

Welcome to the waiting room :)
I hope your journey is as fast as mine - about 30 days from app to DPS to Approved.

I believe the class is good for 2 years, so should not be a problem.
