Unless you know someone in El Paso that will do the job for a reasonable price, $100 or less, send your slide back to Glock. The last time I did that the cost was $70 and I had to pay postage. Turnaround was 2 weeks.

I called one of the shop where I bought my G23 and they said installation is $25. Is the installation price reasonable?

Looks like both of those deals will run a little over $100 before you are finished. That is about the same as Glock charges from the factory.

@dragonfighter, have you ever fired those russian ammo - monarch? It either comes in brass or steel cased. Would the steel case be bad for the gun? The reason I ask is the owner of the gunshop where I bought this baby said that steel cased ammo will "harm" the gun. And that the monarch brands are crappy. How true is this?

Yeah, I've fired the Monarch brass. Filthy stuff but it went bang. Steel casings are bad because they are hard. feeding/ejecting could mar a chamber. I ran some (five) through a revolver, when I had to drive them out of the cylinder I quit.
