Have you told your church security guards?

This is why I made it a point to identify myself to the guys in security at my church.apostate wrote:That's a legitimate concern, although one hardly unique to the church environment. With the threat hopefully neutralized, my next move almost anyplace else would likely be to turn in the direction of the other gunshots. I'm afraid that a LEO/CHL might do the same toward me. Things could get messy from there.

TAM, do you mean the uniformed guards? Or the "safety team?" If it's the latter, how did you come to know who was on that team? The Annoyed Man wrote:This is why I made it a point to identify myself to the guys in security at my church.apostate wrote:That's a legitimate concern, although one hardly unique to the church environment. We have several state boys including the captain of state police (and he carries all the time) and is on stage. I carry, but quietly. My gun is for me, mine, those standing beside me. If I am in the sanctuary it is likely that Steve will see the threat long before I do. In that case my job will be to get my kids down and try to get them out.

To answer the question posted by the OP: no, I haven't and I won't.
For me having a CHL has one purpose: to protect myself and those I love if our lives were ever in danger. Having a license and carrying does not make me part of the church security team, nor gives me special privileges with LEO's, etc. If I'm not required to disclose that I am licensed/carrying, then I don't.
