But I could not send a man to prison for the rest of his life for reacting the way that he is alleged to have. To see your sons sliced and diced....... a person is not sane at that point. That is about the most traumatizing thing I could think of a parent experiencing.
If the driver was under the influence, I could serve on the jury with intentions of finding the father not guilty.

I have no doubt that he killed the driver, but he has a lifetime of suffering ahead of him & I think justice would better be served in letting him deal with what went down that night. Now that I see he was acquitted I can only wish him peace.

NOT guilty. The father was acquitted of all charges. Prosecutors, I guess, are stunned. :rules:

Jury nullification or they didn't have any evidence. Defense stressed lack of evidence and other suspects who were not investigated.

No winners in this story.

I agree with a comment above. They really didn't have any actual evidence he did it and shouldn't have prosecuted at all. On the other hand, he was acquitted and can't be charged again.

The two articles I've read were completely inadequate to make any determination whatsoever about the shooting. In fact, my first thought was "maybe the guy'd been shot before he even plowed-into the back of that truck" i.e. maybe he was driving away from a drunken brawl or something, with a bullet in him already.

One wonders what was presented to the jury; we certainly don't know do we. Based on what little I've seen, I'd have certainly acquitted the dad.
