Can't fault the above arithmetic; however, the earth's rotation, wind's aloft and midgets were not taken into account in the calculations.

While I was reading through this thread, Mr. VB here posted an interesting video, that about 10 minutes into it you see what is something that fits myself and a few others here that I know personally to a "T"...

Those of us who have taken up this responsibilty are more in tune with the accountability of our actions than many people, even within our ranks...

All I have to say in response to the OP's post is, I believe it is ok to label, and define the issues and subjects we come across everyday, it is what helps us develop a mindset that keeps us sharp, focused (in some ways), and better versed in the legalities we face everyday we wake up to start a new day...

There is no question that the moment you have to defend yourself with the use of deadly force you will be scrutinized from here to Christmas for that action, and YOU WILL have to justify your actions in regards to that homicide(s), if that is the result...

Don't expect sympathy in this forum for any action resulting in a homicide...I would imagine you would get a lot of support, and we would hope for the best, but in real life, you can expect the legal system to look into everything you say and write in public forums through an investigation and trial, if you are not "no-billed"...

The best you can do is keep your head screwed on straight, try to live your life in avoidance of situations where you may be challenged to act...But at the end of the day, like we see in the video...The most I would look for is a dry towel...

If you wake up everyday asking yourself, what I may consider a legitimate question, but a dangerous one in my opinion, "Is today the day I have to stop someone and defend myself or others?"...

Man, I would tell you to hang that hogleg up until you get that out of your head as quickly as possible...That really isn't somthing you should have to ask yourself, or even think about...And I have heard a few people say they do that...

Now I am off muh soapbox, and will continue to read through these posts in this very interesting discussion thread...

texanron wrote:Is is just me or does it seem that some members post responses just to start arguments or agitate others on this site? I understand its the nature of the interent and the anonymityof it all. Personally I'm trying to make an effort to move on to another post if I disagree with something someone has said. In addition, starting today, I'm not going to respond to folks asking me to clarify what I meant or try to justify what I meant or who in my opinion are fishing for a "gotcha" moment.
Yes, some do that...

But in defense of that, think of it this way...Better here to be challenged than in a court of law...Even those that challenge you have your (and others) best interests in heart...For the most part ;-) ...

I can be a real stinker at times, but I have a rep of thinking outside the box and if no one gets it, it's no skin off my back...And I tend to float bait out there just to draw people into thinking they got me in a "gotcha" moment...

So don't close up on us now...Opinions are to be challenged, that's why you post them, you're either going to get the :iagree: , or you are going to get lots of :rules: :fire :deadhorse: :grumble and the like...

And no one here can accuse me of being a lurker...

On the other hand, no one is obligated to argue about anything. Free speech includes the freedom to stay out of a debate.

No one can accuse you of being a lurker either...

I can't recall the last time I wrote that you were wrong about something...But that doesn't mean I agree with you all the time about "stuff"...

And my opinions and analysis are so far from perfect it ain't funny... :smilelol5:

You may not, but I am often wrong. Fortunately others are quick to point out my mistakes. ;-)

to the OP, I can understand that you are making reference to "catch phrases" and misnomers that are applied to classes and individuals out of ignorance or misunderstanding be it willing or accidental. I would like to ask you this, not in defense of but relating to, what would you call classes of people or individuals that follow the party line retoric of "guns are bad", "guns are for nothing more that to kill people" without fist hand knowledge of them, how would you describe a person that states as fact emphatically that "the police are here to protect you" and "no one should have guns execpt police"

next I believe it was in this thread if not then forgive me. but the police, firefighter and EMS personell are civilians period, there is no discussion that will change this. and flame me if you choose to do so but police are employed by CIVIL authority so are firefighters and EMS, and they are also employed by private companies and corperations.
