Just watched the video for the third or fourth time. There is nothing the Sheriff, the SWAT lawyer, or anyone else can say that will convince me SWAT was justified in this shooting.
This was a search warrant. When they saw a threat why didn’t they withdraw? Instead I saw one officer crowd into the doorway so he could shoot over the heads of the other officers.
Seventy one shots fired, they hit José twenty two times. Where did the other 49 shots go? Sounds like his wife and children are lucky to be alive.
Then they would not allow the paramedics in while he lay on the floor and died.
They found nothing they could have charged anyone with. Even if they had found drugs that still would not have justified this shooting.
I support Law Enforcement in most cases. Look at what this will give the anti’s.

God Bless America, and please hurry.
When I was young I knew all the answers. When I got older I started to realize I just hadn’t quite understood the questions.-Me

From The Arizona Star after the autopsy was released. " leaving 49 rounds passing through walls and some hitting nearby homes, according to reports released by the department last week." Here are some photographs which the news group refers to as "Crime Scene" photos. http://www.kgun9.com/story/14859918/pic ... What I found interesting, in the search for this quote the marine was treated differently by the different media groups local Fox TV showed a previous arrest photo in an orange jump suit. http://www.fox11az.com/news/local/Autop ... 74578.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; While other sources showed him in his Marine dress uniform. http://azstarnet.com/news/local/crime/a ... 0ecbc.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; So I guess depending on how you want to bend the story you use one or the other.
Since most people are sheep, any citizen with a gun is bad, so I suspect support for the police in Tuscon will not be hurt by this event, so I don't see anything given to the anti's. However, I do suspect in the next election this sheriff may not be easily reelected. I know if I lived in Tucson he would not get my vote.

September 2013 four counties paid the family of former Marine Jose Guerena 3 million dollars to settle the families lawsuit against the police officers who killed their father/husband during the SWAT raid that found nothing illegal in the house.
Previously the government ruled the all the officers acted correctly. The information on who was the informant who pointed to this house as needing to be raided was kept confidential.

Thanks for the update. I think these raids are getting more and more attention, which is a good thing.. It's just too late for a number of people.
