Some people can drink responsibly. For those people it's not a problem to have one or two drinks, whether or not they're carrying.
:cheers2:

Some people are vinophobes like chabouk says.
:deadhorse:
"Statistics on alcohol-related deaths are bleak. Every year approximately 75,000 lives will be lost due to alcohol. Countless family and friends left behind will be greatly affected. No one is immune; a chronic alcoholic or an innocent bystander can become a victim. Each death is tragic and often avoidable. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), alcohol abuse is the third leading "preventable cause" of death in the United States."

Every person that ever got behind the wheel drunk believed the same thing you believe. They believed they could handle alcohol and they believed they were drinking responsibly. Research proves that one drink can affect your abilities and judgement. But I am sure that through your own research you are confident that you are somehow immune.

I respect your opinion and I promise I will not use any of my firearms to help save you if I've had a drink in the past year.

According to "Psychology Today" those who resort to sarcasm are simply "expressing aggression toward others and insecurity about themselves".

Can people not simply honestly believe something is wrong without others throwing the "phobe" word on them?? Those of us who believe homosexuality to be morally/biblically wrong have been called homophobes for years. Now I find I am a vinophobe too? Come on guys, deal with the issues instead of assuming it's JUST a fear of it? And for those who want to study the issue in depth, might I recommend the little paperback (in fact, it's probably downloadable for free off the net, been around since 1874) of Bible Wines by William Patton. After all, some would say we are ALL "Bad-Guy-a-phobes...... I'm just sayin

According to the Mayor of Chicago the Fort Hood shootings were caused by America's love of guns. Psychology Today and AMA are not credible sources when their reporting is compromised by their liberal editorial orthodoxy.

"0.04 blood alcohol causes impairment of judgment....". This is a non sequitur. Well over 50% of car accidents are caused by non-drinking drivers. So what? Reading the drivel that passes for modern psychology causes impairment of judgment. So does being a teenager. But it doesn't necessarily make you intoxicated as defined by the penal code.

I think the intoxication standard for carrying and driving are properly defined in the PC 49.01. There is a fairly high BAC (0.08) that creates an automatic presumption of intoxication, then there is a definition "not having the normal use of mental or physical faculties..." which is a fact that can be established by a jury at trial. You can be intoxicated at lower than 0.08, but you aren't necessarily presumed to be.

Oh yeah...if this thread gets locked, I'm going to start one about whether the 30.06 signs at Grapevine Mills mall are valid... "rlol"

Only Chabok and Trinitite can answer as to how they meant it. I am taking the posts to mean that those who are opposed to beverage alcohol to be vinophobes....scared of wine. You know how the term "phobe" gets hurled at people who oppose something frequently. Easier to do that then rationally discuss.

Darn I'm good[/quote]

Look at the original posts and tell me which fits more .... A LOVER of or someone "scared" (made up word for emphasis, vinophobia) of wine. Here are the two posts who referred to one another. Your good, but let them speak. No one knows the heart of man unless they say it.:

I have concluded after years of watching this debate, that some people have the same reaction to alcohol that the Bradys have to guns: "Ooooooooh! Scary! Evil! Don't touch it, or it will start killing people!"

People are individuals.

Some people are vinophobes like chabouk says.

Does that sound like PHILE or PHOBE? Again, all I ask is for people to deal with an issue rather than hurl meaningless prejudiced terms. Should it be they intended PHILE, my apologies. I am only going by what is written. :tiphat:
