That's true. Asocial psychopaths can and do kill without remorse. Their only regrets are usually related to getting caught. Joran Vandersloot appears to be a contemporary example.

However, most of the folks on this forum don't fall into that category, and they should be aware that even if they think they would be able to justifiably take a life without significant emotional consequences, that's more than likely not the case.

That doesn't mean that everyone would experience long lasting damage or PTSD, because not everyone does. How things turn out depends on many factors which will vary with each case, but significant emotional changes in the immediate aftermath are more the rule than the exception, even for police officers and soldiers.

In less than a week, one of these dirt bags was already caught and in jail for something else when the warrants were issued. Wow!
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.
