It's her own fault.
There was an old story about a scorpion who talked a frog into giving him a ride across the pond. The frog didn't trust the scorpion but finally relented. In the middle of the pond, the scorpion stung the frog, insuring its death. With it's last seconds of life, the frog asked the scorpion why he did it, because now the scorpion (who couldn't swim) was going to die, too. The scorpion's reply was "because its what I do."

It seems that political wrangling wins out over self interest and, more importantly, the interests of the voters.

The most interesting part of watching the proceedings was how well Senator Wentworth was able to articulate the value of his Amendment under the onslaught of additional amendments designed to emasculate it.

In addition to Wentworth, who else is on the side of students, faculty, and staff?

In addition to Ellis, who else is on the side of muggers, rapists, and murderers?
All the Republicans minus Ogden on the side of students, faculty, and staff.

All the Dems. plus Ogden on the side of muggers, rapists, and murderers.

Well, it looks like we might FINALLY get the parking lot bill to pass (I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though)...but campus carry is kaput. Is this an accurate assessment at this point? This is particularly galling to me as a veteran currently attending an "institute of higher learning" on the GI Bill (so the Feds will "bless me" with a certification to keep fixing aircraft the way I have for the past 20 years). I truly love the State of Texas, but there sure are a lot of low-down snakes livin' here that I could do without...and it leaves me dumbfounded how they could side with criminals over the law-abiding. Dis-gust-ing...
