Interesting sign at Wal Mart

Saw the following sign on my way into Wal Mart this morning. (Decatur)
NOTICE
IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR A PERSON TO CARRY A WEAPON ON THIS PREMISE
UNLESS THE WEAPON IS A HANDGUN AND THE PERSON IS LICENSED
UNDER SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE
Is this just a friendly reminder that you must have a LTC to carry on premises, or do you think there is more to it?
EDIT:
I couldn't get an image to post on this thread, but here is a link to a picture I took with my phone:

Sounds like a subtle message to the OCT loon types, not to carry their rifles in. I like it.

I think that's the same one on our Kroger. I didn't remember on my way out to read it again. But, I saw the unless it is a handgun part.

I wouldn't read anything else into it. Since they sell alcohol I assume that they also have the normal TABC blue sign.

Sounds like another way of saying something like:
You must have a License to carry a HANDGUN to carry a handghun here >>> AND Any firearm carried by a non-licensee, AND/OR a Longarm/Rifle carried (which is "NOT" under authority of a LTC/CHL) would be prohibited by the TABC "blue sign" if that Walmart sells alcohol
??
Perhaps they are trying to prevent >> someone thinking that
anyone could open carry or that
rifles open carried were ok, since TV NEWS reporters have been woefully inaccurate at times showing all the AR-15s.
Uploading your NEW Walmart sign

Those signs have been on Walmart doors for years. See the second sign in this thread -

No, that's incorrect. It has always been legal in Texas to carry long arms without a license, so the sign is not prohibiting entry carrying long arms - only the unlicensed possession of handguns.

This is not the same sign. This Wal Mart also has the typical blue TABC sign, but this new sign only showed up in the past couple of days.

Wait ... You're saying you can carry a longarm past a blue sign at the Walmart?
The
"blue sign" says It's a felony, It's carrying a weapon past the blue sign without a license (Because no license exists to carry a longarm, so it must be unlicensed possession of a weapon?
But what he posted was a different sign in addition to the blue sign

looked at the sign at my Walmart about 30 minutes ago, still same old TABC blue sign as always, notice it says "weapon" not handgun, it means any weapons because they sell alcohol unless licensed.
I know I have seen pics of the OCT nuts with rifles in Wally Worlds but doesn't mean it is legal, just hasn't been prosecuted.
Can you carry a long gun into a bar? Nope.

The sign is advising that "long guns" are not allowed - with or without a license. I think that may be similar to the new sign on Brookshire Bros?

This has been discussed previously. You CAN legally carry a rifle into a place that sells alcohol. The blue sign references PC 46.02 which relates to handguns, clubs, and illegal knives. Per the TABC code the store can lose it's liquor license if you do...although there's an interesting exception for a store with an FFL which some WalMarts have.

baldeagle, my apologies, I was wrong with my generalized statement... I've learned more on this forum than anywhere else ...

actually the blue TABC sign does not reference 46.02 it references the alcoholic beverage code and means ALL weapons not just firearms

Then please quote the section of the alcoholic beverage code that makes it a crime to carry a long gun...
