Re: Did anti texting and driving laws reduce accidents?

I think texting and driving should be elevated to a more serious crime, something up along the level of DUI. I drive a freeway (I-10) every day and you wouldn't believe what I see out there.

Re: Lawsuit argues AR-15 illegal

Well......"can be readily RESTORED........" Per the definition of "restore", none of my AR15s can be restored to shoot more than one round per pull of trigger because they never originally could! Nothing to "restore" on my rifles. I'm not so sure. A good lawyer could have a field day with this - re...

Re: Ross Perot death

Perot was yet another example of media assassination. I remember during his campaign, he addressed a group of black voters, "you people have not gotten a fair shake." Whoops.... because he referred to them as "you people," the media insinuated he was addressing them as some separate, "non-white" gro...

Re: Ask Amy...

Well, to us, it sounds extreme, but these people ARE out there. I remember selling our house a couple of years back. A realtor was showing it to a couple in their 40s. Another woman, a friend of the wife's, was with them. I was showing them a room when suddenly I heard this loud squealing: "oooowwoo...

Re: Another Meme Thread

I remember well. Back in the 50s. We drove the neighbors to distraction tearing all over the neighborhood playing "army." It was a big deal to go down to the dimestore and stock up on ammo, er, caps.

What kind of president (or ex-president) goes to a shirthole country like Brazil and makes public speeches running down his own country? Just disgusting.

Re: 2019 Firearms Related Bills That Made it to Governor Abbott

Hmmm.... As I understand it, it doesn't matter whether there's a sign or not; if you receive verbal or written notice, you have to leave, period. Still, can an LEO walk up and ask if you're carrying a weapon, based solely on noticing a slight bulge under your shirt? Seems like that would be illegal ...

Terrorist movie

Sometimes we visualize certain situations and try to devise ways we would deal with them in real life, as a concealed carrier. One of those imaginary scenarios is a sudden terrorist attack. I just recently watched a movie (we live 2 blocks from a theater) that made it strikingly real. The terrorist ...

Re: South Africa: Violent farm murders

Yep. I don't mean this as a racist comment, but once the natives run off the white landowners (who brought the country into the 20th century), SA is doomed to decay, just like what they did to other African countries - Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Sudan, Nigeria, Congo, Somalia, etc. I've had several very cl...

with the president of Plaid Pantry in Oak Grove explaining to local station KOIN-TV that ... employees are trained to de-escalate robbery situations to avoid injury, Typical corporate schizophrenia. Many times, your "de-escalation" simply doesn't work . Then what? Prisons and Death Rows are packed ...

Re: NRA Leader LaPierre Says Being Extorted,

While shrieks of alarm at $40,000 Beverly Hills shopping orgies blare throughout the media, rest assured that if the lawsuit reveals information that completely exonerates LaPierre of any wrongdoing, you won't hear a peep about it.

Re: NRA Leader LaPierre Says Being Extorted,

To accuse Charles of thug tactics like you are shows you are not fully aware of the work that man has done for gun rights. In the last ten years he has achieved more for advancing second amendment issues than many people will achieve in the same field over a lifetime. Of course. But I think what he...
