Problem is, Cornyn sells well. I don't see Paxton doing anything competitive with this....

I have a two word answer: Eric Cantor

If you looked at Cantor's campaign, he was a shoe-in. But the polling in Texas suggests that, like Cantor, the voters have recognized that Cornyn doesn't represent them but represents lobbyists, Democrats and the Washington Elite.

I did read in the news this morning that the gap between Paxton and Cornyn is narrowing. Cornyn's lead is down to about 5%. I suspect Paxton could pull ahead of Cornyn if he'd spiff up his marketing and public image.

It seems that Paxton has the potential to beat Cornyn in the primary, but is likely to lose the general election. Paxton is too far to the right for a lot of voters. For that reason, I'm playing the long game and voting for Cornyn.

Paxton is an extremist who uses Christianity to promote his own power and yet does not reflect Christian values. Too much smoke, and I don't care for how he treated his wife. I'm for Cornyn.

I'm not for Cornyn at all. He's just another democrat. Time will tell.
