Teach me about buying suppressors

I don't have any NFA items (yet), and I'm considering getting my first suppressor. I've seen plenty on this forum on how folks get an NFA trust, but my question is 'why'? What's the value proposition of getting an NFA trust vs. not doing one? I welcome input from all the folks who've been down this ...

Re: NRA Threads and Bogus Attacks

I do not trust the media and I certainly do not trust the stories on the NRA. It is obvious people are trying to tear apart the NRA using it’s own membership. I do not know Wayne LaPierre, I do not know Chris Cox, I do not know Ollie North but fortunately I know Charles enough to know that I trust ...

Another 3006 sign came down

A couple months ago Mrs VolTexan asked me to stop in the Tostada Regia restaurant in the Westchase area of Houston. She'd heard they have good food, and wanted me to bring some home. I arrived at the place and found a couple of 3006 and 3007 signs in the windows. Weighing my two options of (a) going...

Re: Governor Abbott Signs Ten Pro-Second Amendment Bills into Law

Charles,

I'm looking forward to your 'country boy interpretation' of these bills for those of us with limited legal knowledge.
I know you've got your hands full with other 2A issues at this time, so I'm OK with waiting until you're ready to share your wisdom.

Re: NRA CCW Instructor class

I received that also.

I guessed that it was a class primarily focused to teach techniques, etc, rather than the law (which is a major component of our Texas LTC course).

But I could be wrong. I have no more info than you do.

Re: Kay Jewelers store manager no longer employed after keeping on-duty deputy from picking up ring

While I find it quite ignorant of the manager to keep the deputy out, I wouldn't do business with Kay even after said manager had her employment terminated. Seems that, according to the 30.06 site, Kay's likes to post their businesses to keep LTCers out...well, I'll certainly follow the law, and st...

Kay Jewelers store manager no longer employed after keeping on-duty deputy from picking up ring

https://www.wxii12.com/amp/article/sheriff-jewelry-store-restricts-on-duty-deputy-from-picking-up-engagement-ring-because-he-was-armed/27758725 The idiocy of these libs is boundless. In this rare instance the company made the right decision for the deputy. It would be better for all if they would e...

I keep reading that article, hoping there would be a glimmer of reason contained within, but now I only wish there were a way to get my five minutes back.

Golden State Coach Wears Gun Control Shirt to NBA Finals

https://www.breitbart.com/sports/2019/06/03/golden-state-coach-steve-kerr-wears-gun-control-shirt-nba-finals/ But Golden State’s Coach Kerr wants more gun control. On May 31, Breitbart News reported that Kerr suggested to the Mercury News that well-funded youth can “impose” gun control on the non-c...

Re: Lowes and Veteran Discounts

Home Depot only gives discounts year round to retired military, but gives veterans discounts on certain holidays, like Memorial Day weekend. This has been my experience too. Good info. Thank you. I'm a veteran, but not retired. Home Depot has never denied me a discount. It varies from store to stor...
