Re: Lawn care suggestions...

I don't like St. Augustine because of the weaknesses to water, grubs, and fungus. I much prefer Centipede grass. When thick, it will choke out every weed, even bahia and nut grass. It requires less water and less fertilize than any other grass, and it grows into a thicker, deeper mat than any other...

Re: Lawn care suggestions...

If it's overall that it has never thrived like it should, not really responding to fertilizer like is should, it's the soil. Test it, professionally, before spending money on anything other than mole treatment. Usually, developed sites remove, replace, or lack organic matter/organic activity that na...

Though nothing can protect against a direct strike, a whole home surge protection put in you main box is good insurance on down the line strikes.

Re: Looking for a financial planner

Check out Scott Burns, financial columnist for the Dallas Morning News, and his Couch Potato Portfolio. Makes a lot of sense and you don't have to pay an agent who only works for commissions. If you do decide to go to a financial adviser, make sure it someone you pay to look after your interest (th...

Re: Anyone ever see a cat like this?

Yes, such was the Texas black panther, once. My dad was a state park volunteer in Brazos where he and a few others over the years swore they saw what looked like a black panther. Many sightings were reported across the state saying same. TPW said folks were seeing some other animal. Years later, the...

Re: How to change DL Number on CHL

This must be done by mail, you’ll need to mail in a LTC-70 form & check for $25 payable to “Texas DPS”. Include a photocopy of the new DL front & back. I don’t see any of those 7 boxes in the reason for change/ update as fitting the situation that the OP mentioned regarding DL change. I think the f...

Re: Texas "10 acre" rule for discharging a firearm outside of city limits?

I've shot it in my back yard a few times now, it's not nearly as loud as the CCI Quiet's I tested (which aren't really quiet at all imo), it won't bother anyone. Raccoon came back again last night and defeated the defenses I put up to protect my outside animal feeder. Working on obtaining a trap no...

Re: Texas "10 acre" rule for discharging a firearm outside of city limits?

How about a “suppressed” air rifle? https://airriflehunter.com/top-5-quietest-air-rifles/ I've actually gone that route. Picked this up this evening, pretty nice little rifle: https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/crosman-shockwave-22-caliber-pellet-air-rifle#repChildCatid=1517045&bopisStoreId=239 Also ...

Re: Sheriff's office and civil rights

Not sure, very interesting question though. Proof.. Facts.. Neither seems particularly necessary these days to quickly convict in the 'court of public opinion' & in our electronic world it never goes away. A public official speaking out 'should be held accountable' for what they say that is not fac...

Re: Sheriff's office and civil rights

Yes, vague on facts, but one fact is that there is no "rule" that any language must be used to describe the arrest. If they arrest, that's their ultimate statement that one is guilty. If that is found to be incorrect, proven not guilty, then the initial arrest can be challenged as unjust, but till t...

Re: Vehicle sale documentation question

On the sellers side, in addition to the both of you going to tax office to properly document with the 130-U, the seller side needs to make sure and do a vehicle transfer notification to DPS (can be done online). Learned the extra step the hard way when lady I sold vehicle to decided to skip toll in...
