It is the 25/50 yard range, and just about any rifle is allowed there - not just "low powered". You can shoot your Garand at 25/50 to get "on paper" before moving to longer ranges.
At the 3/7/15, .22 rifles used to be allowed, then no shoulder-fired weapons, and now I think we are back to .22 ...

Re: What to do after use of concealed handgun
This is a hypothetical. Hopefully, me being aware of my surroundings would stop the situation before the criminal tried to rob me. This is only a question of what to do after I shot him. Of course I would do things different depending on my distance to the attacker.

Re: Videos of Shots at Bayou Rifles
Is that at the 25 and 50 yard lines? I thought only low power rifles were allowed there. I could not tell since the rules are a little vague.

Re: Fort Bend Shooting Range?
Bayou Rifles is great. I joined this year and have been very pleased. I use to shoot once every few months and now I go almost once a week.

What to do after use of concealed handgun
I have been reading on what to do to prepare in case I have to use my handgun in a self defense situation. The problem is what should I do if I ever have to? I cannot find any information online.
Here is a situation. I am walking to my car and someone pulls out a knife or handgun to rob me. I give ...

Re: Mobile conceal on a motorbike
You will have to be creative to disarm, unload, and clear the weapon out in the open. Maybe there is an out-of-the-way place where you can discreetly take care of business.
Why would he need to unload and clear a SD weapon that he is securing in a locked compartment? Not only does this prevent ...

Re: Mobile conceal on a motorbike
I used to have a small scooter and I remember the lock being more of a formality than security. Not something I would want to leave a firearm in. Do what you can to beef up the lock. In addition see if you can figure out a way to put a Kypton cable with a real lock on it. You can then secure the ...

Re: Mobile conceal on a motorbike
Thanks for the advise. I'm going to go try to find a low profile fanny pack, and may also work on the slight of hand.

Re: Mobile conceal on a motorbike
I was looking at the fanny packs but they seem so obvious at what is being carried, and I need something that is not noticeable since I don't want it to get stolen.
It's better than someone seeing a gun in a holster and knowing for sure what's under the seat.
That is true and why I considered a ...

Re: Mobile conceal on a motorbike
fanny pack might be the easiest thing. keep it in the pack whilst you are riding, and when you arrive, toss the whole enchilada in the seat compartment. They're only obvious to other CHL'ers who use'em.
the seat compartment locks, right?
I genuinely can't think of a better way, off the top of my ...

Mobile conceal on a motorbike
I just received my CHL about a month ago and had planned on keeping it in my truck when I had to go into work. My employer does not allows weapons on the premises but they do not own the parking lot so I can keep it in my truck. That was my plan when I applied for my CHL in Feb, but since then I got ...

I received a letter from the DPS a few days after I got my plastic. This is what it said,

Re: Obama and Communism
Make a consistent logical argument. Muslim? Communist? Which one is it? I don't like Obama any more than I like Clinton or McCain but the way some people attack him with spray and pray tactics make me think they don't want to admit their real objection is he's black.
There is that argument again ...

Re: Let's hear some updates!
Does anyone here think it is possible they are sorting the applications by region or city? This might explain why it is taking some of us 120 days while others are getting plastic in 60. Being in the DFW area, I could believe they are getting more applications from here than they are from Austin or ...

Nope. DPS sent it next day UPS; not via the United States Postal Service.BambooShoots wrote:I think he meant USPS.ed3eclipse wrote:what??!? really? via UPS. not USPS? hmmmmm. that's weird. anyone else experience this?
