Re: San Antonio get together

Let me see if I have this correct:

Lone Star Range in Lockhart

Saturday 18 June 2011 @ 1100

Do I have all of this correct?

My 11-year-old daughter with her Defensive Rifle instructor, Jon Payne, of Suarez International in Orange in January. http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5246/5353621110_18c4d8ca9f_z.jpg Rifle is a Ruger 10-22 in a Tapco "NRA Special Edition" stock with a Tasco RDS. I'm mighty proud of her. Bill

Re: The Best of the West Shooting Range

I shot there in September 2010 as part of a group practice.

Great facility. I wish it wasn't two hours away from my home in San Antonio.

Re: Suarez Int'l Close Range Gunfighting coming to Dallas ar

It seems that Gabe isn't teaching this one but rather one of the guys in pool of instructors (or whatever you want to call it) is, John Payne. There have been a couple of interviews with John about the upcoming class in past podcasts on the http://www.handgunworld.com/ . I have trained under Jon's ...

Suarez International in Texas

I'm not an instructor. Just a student of several Suarez classes. Highly recommended. The following are Suarez instructors holding classes in Texas that I'm aware of: JR Urbina in the San Antonio area. Jon Payne holds classes in Orange and in the DFW area. Glenn Matthews holds classes in Tyler. I hav...

Re: Carrying at the 1 o'clock

Mr. Brett, What you are describing is Appendix Carry. It should work. How comfortable it is and how well it conceals may be a matter of the holster, the belt, your trousers, and your body. I'm a chubby middle-aged guy. I have a 38 inch waist. I can carry my Glock 26 at 1 o'clock in a Tucker Cover-up...

Re: San Antonio Members...

I was at a Suarez International class last year in Tyler. During lunch at Taco Bell, a fellow came in OC. No badge, walked in from a van with Georgia plates. Wife and kids with him. Our instructor got up and spoke privateky to the man. He made a hasty retreat to the van and came back unarmed. Appare...

Sights? You can do what I did. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4049/4640037473_d25df649cc.jpg You can put a Trijicon RMR red dot sight. I had the slide milled and prepared for it by One Source Tactical. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4100/4880061515_e810f7a029.jpg Try it and you'll never look back. B...

I have a Saiga AK in 7.62x39mm. Saiga is about as good as they come from the factory. http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?productid=17015&cat=353&page=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; A few months ago I mounted a Burris Scout scope on a Ultimak gas tube rail. Here...

Re: Advice welcome: choosing sidearm and holster

Mr. Fick - The challenge is to find a comfortable holster at a reasonable price. First, I recommend Tucker's The Answer http://rlcompanyusa.stores.yahoo.net/answeriwbs.html IWB holster. I had one for my 1911 and I was known to take long naps while wearing it and my gun. It's that comfortable. The pr...
